Happy Father's Day 2011

Dear Diary, 

I am sitting in the office about to write a father's day message about Brooks- when I hear the sounds of giggling, whistling, singing, and belly laughing. I decide to go see what I was missing out on- and there I see (they don't know I have walked in) Nixon in the bathtub while Brooks is kneeling beside the tub with his face in the water blowing bubbles out of his nose. They both laugh-Nixon thinks it's hilarious and tries to do it next. Words just don't describe how happy it makes me to see the love and fun these two share.  Nix adores him. So glad we have him in our life.

I really want family photos done...

(I didn't get a chance to post this last night)

Dear Diary,

I it is true I am a photographer. And it is true that I have over 15 empty frames in my house just waiting for just the right photo to be placed in there and hung on our bare walls. But just the perfect photo of our family just doesn't happen like that. Last October this was my attempt of getting a family photo... propping a camera on a tripod just wasn't cutting it-  so, needless to say- it turned into another Nixon photo shoot. I am okay with that- he is pretty cute.

 With Spring here- I am determined to get photos taken and frames filled. Here are the photos of our attempt to take family photos last fall. Get ready for our spring collection! It's coming.

Nixon and I walked outside to see what daddy was working on...

So, Nixon wanted to help...

Army Crawler

Dear Daddy,


It's me Nixon. Today while you were gone I have been playing with mommy and have been all over the place doing my army crawl. She can't believe how fast I can get to one place to the next. I am picking up everything in  my path so... you and mom better watch me very closely from now on- here I come! I miss you and can't wait to see you soon.

Dear Diary,

Today my heart is full from listening to a beautiful conference this weekend. I feel blessed. I feel really blessed. These photos portray the feeling of love and happiness I have for my family. It makes me smile. Gratitude fills my heart this morning as I think of how blessed I am to have “my boys” in my life. I love them more with each day.

Big shoes to fill

Dear Diary,

Brooks is out of town and I am missing him right now. It seems like I have a three day limit before I long for his return... today is day three. I came across these photos on my desktop this morning and they made me smile. 

I am reminded of how sacred my time is with my family even if it is just hanging out in our PJs. There is nothing better than moments like these.  I walked in our room to see Nixon and daddy playing on the floor one Saturday morning and I had to pick up my camera and take a few shots!  

Here is my big boy wearing daddy's BIG shoes! They are almost as long as he is! He has quite the BIG shoes to fill one day and I would love Nixon to grow up to be just like his daddy.

I just adore watching these two together.

Today I feel gratitude for the little loves of my life. Thank you for bringing so much joy. Nixon and I can't wait for you to come home tomorrow daddy!
